šŸ““ Ned’s Notes: Entry #8 Mystery of the Plum Purple Jeep Renegade

Plum Crazy 2023 Jeep Renegade tied to Florida crime scene

A Plum Purple Jeep Renegade at the crime scene

Hi guys, Detective Ned here again. Still standing. Not at the crime scene though. Just going over the mystery of the plum purple Jeep Renegade.
So there I was, driving down a suspiciously calm street in sunny Florida. Calm being always a red flag. Usually you’re fighting for your life out there while driving to your nearest convenience store for a Coke. So then what do I see flash by like a grape on wheels? A purple Jeep Renegade. Not lavender. Not mauve. We’re talking full-blown Plum color.

DƩjƠ Vu in Plum Color; an enigma

But this isn’t just any purple Jeep. This is the purple Jeep. Flashback to my first case here in sunny Florida—Pairs. Someone is trying to frame me and I’m beginning to think they might own a rugged, boxy vehicle built for both off-road adventures and urban utility and removable doors. This is the mystery of the plum purple Jeep Renegade. What is it doing following me? Or in this case, passing me so closely I felt like I was doing a commercial for grape bubble gum.

First on Scene: The Real MVP Puzzle

The first officer on scene that day was sharp. The kind of sharp that makes other officers quietly resent them. Their job? Lock down the crime scene before I, or the medical examiner, arrive. It’s not glamorous, but it’s vital. Without a secure scene, you’ve got nothing but a bad alibi and maybe a trampled manta ray.

The Case File That Keeps Giving

Back at the office, I cracked open their report. Among the usual checkboxes and scribbled notes, there it was:

EXAMINATIONS:
The scene was documented. Photographed. Searched for—well, let’s not spoil it. Read Pairs. But the real kicker was this gem:

Plum wrapped 2023 Jeep Renegade parked near hydrant. Possibly tied to subject.

A Vehicle, a Vibe, and a Vague Lead

Possibly? Look, the murder victim in Pairs had dates less committed than that. Still, the officer was thorough. Sharp eye. Neat handwriting. Probably alphabetizes their spice rack.

Nothing ever came of that purple Jeep. Until Wrecks. And let’s just say… things escalated.

Lessons From the Plum

So, what have we learned?

  1. Never ignore a purple Jeep.
  2. First responders are the unsung heroes of crime scene integrity.
  3. Something fishy is going on and it’s pointing at me.

Stay safe out there. Buckle up, keep your eyes open, and if you see a suspicious-looking Jeep, maybe just call someone else. I’m plum tired.

See you next week.
—Detective Ned

🧪 Crime Scene Tech Tip

The first responding officer must secure the perimeter, log all entries/exits, and begin initial documentation—without disturbing evidence. Think of it as being the bouncer at a very exclusive and very unfortunate party. Your job isn’t to mingle; it’s to keep track of who came in, who left, and who spilled what, where, and when—because later, someone’s going to try to reconstruct the chaos, and the evidence doesn’t clean up after itself.
