Author interview Pairs and Mishaps: I recently had the chance to sit down with my editor for a fun, behind-the-scenes interview about Pairs and Mishaps—the two books that sparked Ned’s Notes.
We chatted about everything from flip book options to the earthquake that started it all.
Short Term Mysteries, Long Term Fun!
Pairs and Mishaps started as short, oddball mysteries, pandemic brain candy for readers craving quick hits of humor and chaos.. Out of the bizarre situations and goofy themes comes Ned, the character who grew on me more than I expected.
These formulaic, interactive stories opened the door to something new: a way for me to explore life, humor, and a little mayhem through Ned’s voice.
Looking Ahead: Wrecks, Critters, and a Tremor
The fun doesn’t stop with Pairs and Mishaps. I’m currently wrapping up two new books—Wrecks and Critters—which continue the wild, witty tone of the earlier stories, with even more unexpected twists and character chaos.
And for readers looking for something deeper, darker, and more grounded in reality: my novel Tremor in the Hills comes out at the end of 2025. It’s a mystery set in post-earthquake Peru, blending suspense, social tension, and one woman’s search for truth in the rubble.
Let’s Talk Books
Finally, whether you’ve read Pairs, Mishaps, or just started Ned’s Notes, I’d love to hear what’s stood out to you. The characters, the tone, the absolute disregard for neat endings—what’s your take? How did you like the author interview?
